In the next few days, the site will be upgraded to a new system. We will do our best to keep the transition smooth, but due to incompatibilities, a few annoyances will have to be endured.

For one, user account passwords will have to be reset. The names will remain, but you will need to use the Reset Password feature to set a valid one in the new system.

Avatars and all user information will also be lost, I hope you have backups, if not, make them now. The new system uses a more complex profiling system that is not easily ported from phpBB.

A few weeks after the transition, we will also be performing a cleanup of old accounts and the organizational roster. Accounts who's passwords have not been reset will be assumed dead, and consequently deleted. Along with membership.

Along with these site changes, organizational changes will also be occurring in the near future. Things have been slow, so its time to adapt or die off. I opt for the earlier. We will be adopting policies more akin to a gaming community, and less to that of a clan. For the most part, these changes will be to our image as an organization, as Uber has been run like a community for the most part anyways.

However, nothing is finalized at the time of this post. Today, 3PM-4PM PST, there will be a discussion about the future of Uber in Ventrillo. If you want a say in these matters. Be there.

So, I figured I'd make a news post about this because it appears that FIVE uBer members will be going to the Folsom, CA Intel Lan Fest (Folsom is 30 minutes outside of Sacramento, CA) Friday, July 24th, to Sunday, July 26th. I have offered to house some individuals if you contact me directly, so if you want to go but cannot afford to stay in a hotel, I've got several rooms in a house to sleep in (and eat), so you'd have to pay for travel such as gas/flying/food. .. We won't be sleeping a ton (you can go home from 2:00AM-10:AM each day, and leave your hardware there, its under lockdown), but when we do, you'll want a place to chill.

I would recommend signing up for the $30 package instead of the $35 dollars because there are quite a bit more seats available for this package, so more chance you can get a seat by the group. Sign up ASAP so you're sitting with your uBer bros

We are pushing through changes due to criticism of our current process and to improve the overall experience of the community and clan. This will include some changes to how we recruit and change the general structure of the clan. We will put forth more details when the changes are finally in place. For now you can talk to Profector, Outlaw, or Fallen for more details.

Also we lost our former recruitment officer, 'gypsylord' for a variety of reasons. In his place will be Fallen at least for now. Bare with us and don't let this hold you back from submitting an application to join.
